This training is for all staff
concerned by the operations of intervention in
operations (wire-line, coiled tubing, snubbing and
completion) as well as the detection of
venues: Station managers, drilling supervisors,
Workover and Well Intervention Supervisors. 

pre-requis

The IWCF recommends that significant experience in pressure control is required to work as a workover operator or as supervisory personnel. 

Objectives

DETAILED PROGRAM

UNDERSTANDING THE IMPACTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF A PRESSURE CONTROL INCIDENT

  • Introduction, reminder of impacts on personnel, environment, operations, etc.
  • Integrity of the well throughout its life cycle (from construction to abandonment)
  • Annular pressure monitoring, risk management principles and practices
  • Introduction to occurrence control (hydrostatic calculations, fracturing pressure (leak
    test), well control by the BOP, etc.
  • Notions de barrières de sécurité, barrières enveloppes, tests en pression

COMPRENDRE LE CONTROLE DES PRESSIONS SUR LE PUITS (COMPLETION)

  • Concepts of safety barriers, envelope barriers, pressure tests (continued)
  • The different types of gas, water and oil influx and their transformation during the
    circulation in the well. Principles of gas migration and its effects.
  • Importance of the procedure for closing the well (methods), opening the valves under
    pressure
  • Methods to kill the well, different types of circulation, use of choke to
    control the flow (Reverse/Forward circulation)
  • Calculations of circulation volumes in annular, tubular, bottom hole, ICP/FCP, etc.
  • Bullheading: method and risk of fracturing
  • Lubricate & Bleed" method

  • Evaluate the different methods of completing a well throughout the production process
